An established and reputable General Contractor is seeking a well-rounded Project Manager to join their team in Charleston. This role requires a strong leader capable of managing all aspects of commercial construction projects — from ground-up builds to complex renovations — with budgets typically ranging from $10M–$15M ,.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience across multiple sectors (such as big box retail, courthouses, and municipal projects) and be ready to hit the ground running within a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Oversee all phases of construction from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and overall delivery.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and design specifications.
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and progress reporting.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure timely closeout.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.Proven success managing ground-up and renovation projects between $10M–$15M .Strong financial and scheduling acumen (budget tracking, cost control, forecasting).Effective communicator and relationship builder with clients and subcontractors.Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.).Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.Hands-on and detail-oriented.Comfortable running projects independently.Strong team leader and mentor.Professional, dependable, and solution-focused.Cultural fit is key – someone collaborative, driven, and ready to make an impact.
