A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in the United States to provide legal guidance and support to staff attorneys and non-attorney team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family-based and humanitarian immigration law, with a commitment to helping individuals legalize their status.

Duties

  • Prepare and supervise U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications, including humanitarian visas.
  • Supplement pending family-based and humanitarian applications.
  • Review and analyze FOIAs from government agencies.
  • Standardize legal strategies for case types, including RFEs and denials.
  • Ensure consistency in legal strategy, client communications, and filings.
  • Design and deliver training programs for team members.
  • Develop standardized templates and legal resource materials.
  • Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and legal updates.
  • Mentor staff attorneys and non-attorney team members.
  • Collaborate with operations to improve case workflows and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies and immigration regulations.
  • Stay current with changes in immigration law.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active member in good standing of a state bar.
  • 3+ years of experience in U.S. immigration law, focusing on humanitarian and family-based cases.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or managing team members.
  • Advocacy-focused approach to client representation.
  • Innovative mindset for improving operations and processes.
  • Leadership skills and strong work ethic.
