Payroll Manager – Manufacturing
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment . The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Workday payroll systems, a deep understanding of federal and state payroll regulations, and a proven ability to lead efficient payroll processes for both hourly and salaried employees.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Administer and maintain the Workday payroll system, including updates, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Supervise and support payroll staff, providing training and guidance to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to align payroll with company policies and labor agreements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and union contracts (as applicable).
- Audit payroll reports and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accuracy and data integrity.
- Manage payroll-related general ledger entries, reports, and month-end close activities.
- Lead process improvements and system upgrades to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
- Stay current on payroll best practices, tax law changes, and Workday feature enhancements.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).5+ years of payroll management experience , with at least 2+ years in a manufacturing environment .Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll required.Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and compliance.Proven experience managing payroll for both hourly and exempt employee groups.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally.Preferred Certifications :
Certified Payroll Professional ( CPP ) or Fundamental Payroll Certification ( FPC ) is a plus.
