ROLE AND PURPOSE : To serve as HVAC Technician
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum Qualifications :
- Valid Texas drivers license and satisfactory driving record
- High school diploma required
- Four years of experience with commercial building HVAC systems or technical certification from approved trade school or college.
- EPA Universal Certification required. Applicant may be given up to 90 days of employment to obtain based on accepted job offer.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience :
HVAC certification or training preferredSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
Knowledge of facility mechanical and electrical systemsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience with K-12 educational facilities preferredMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
Assists the district's maintenance department, designed to provide world-class facilities to enhance instructionSCHOOL / ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
Models behavior that promotes a positive organizational climateProvides assistance in implementation of maintenance department goals and initiativesAssists in advancing the mission, vision, goals, and strategic plan for the districtProvides effective and service-oriented communication with staff and school personnelSCHOOL / ORGANIZATION IMPROVEMENT
Performs programming and on-site repairs to improve the learning environmentActively supports the efforts of others to achieve the district's goals and implement the strategic planMaintains an effective system of communication among department staff and individual school staffGenerates communication and reporting necessary to improve facility maintenanceADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL / FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
Provides support to HVAC Foreman and Supervisor to address departmental functionsProvide support to campuses to address facility maintenanceTroubleshoots mechanical and automation problemsAssists in repairs to make HVAC more effectiveAdditional responsibilities, as needed, to advance maintenanceSCHOOL / COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Maintains a working knowledge of district policies, procedures, and practicesHelps facilitate communication and coordination with campusesProvides support during meetings with departmental, campus, and administrative staffSTUDENT MANAGEMENT

Indoor and outdoor work environment; subject to noise from equipment operation; regular exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, oil / grease.
