Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Manager :

Lead and mentor a team of two payroll staff, including training, workload management, and performance oversight.

Oversee accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll cycles for 1,000+ employees across multiple states.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Maintain payroll records and manage employee data within payroll and HRIS systems.

Resolve payroll inquiries, discrepancies, and complex employee issues.

Partner with HR and Billing to align data, processes, and reporting.

Process wage garnishments, employment verifications, and other payroll-related documentation.

Prepare payroll reports for leadership, auditors, and external agencies.

Support audits and respond to agency or court requests as required.

Drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Qualifications for the Payroll Manager :

1-2 years of payroll management experience, including direct supervision of staff.

Prior experience managing multi-state, high-volume weekly payroll (1,000+ employees).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Prior healthcare payroll experience is a plus.

ADP payroll system experience strongly preferred.
