A Brief Overview
PRN position, covering evening and night shifts
Follows laboratory policies and procedures to perform high and moderate complexity testing. Performs pre-analytical and post-analytical laboratory support functions. Demonstrates clear communication with team members to optimize laboratory operations
What You Will Do
- Accurately and efficiently performs pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical processes for laboratory testing
- Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions
- Performs and evaluates all required quality control assessments as described in departmental policies and procedures prior to reporting patient results.
- Evaluates results of laboratory tests according to laboratory protocols to ensure quality patient care.
- Documents all laboratory activities according to policies and procedures
- Maintains and demonstrates competency assessment in assigned area
- Takes responsibility for self-development and Completes all assigned mandatory assignments within allowed timelines.
- Is an active participant in departmental projects
- Collaborates with the laboratory supervisor to ensure laboratory compliance with all regulatory agencies by established standards
- Trains students and new team members, and is a resource for other technical team members
- Assesses competency of team members as assigned

Education
Associate's Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology (Required)Work Experience
2+ years experience in a highly complex laboratory setting within defined clinical disciplines i.e. Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Molecular, Microbiology, Histology, Cytology, etc. preferredLicenses and Certifications
Medical Lab Technician (MLT-ASCP) MLT (ASCP) / MLS-ASCP certification or equivalent preferred. (Preferred Upon Hire)Physical Demands
