We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager / Supervisor to oversee inventory-related accounting and financial analysis for North American operations. This role involves managing inventory valuation processes, cost accounting, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will excel at analyzing variances, forecasting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This role will manage one staff accountant and is a hybrid model. Responsibilities :
- Manage inventory valuation on the Balance Sheet and ensure accurate reflection in the Cost of Goods Sold accounts.
- Oversee cost accounting processes for manufactured products, resale goods, and in-transit items.
- Conduct variance analysis comparing current figures against prior year data and budget expectations.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
- Support month-end close processes, ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting.
- Prepare and review journal entries to maintain accuracy in the General Ledger.
- Coordinate financial statement audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure data consistency and compliance.
- Utilize NetSuite and other financial tools to streamline accounting operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on inventory and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in month-end close procedures and General Ledger management.
- Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance requirements.
- Expertise in account reconciliation and accurate journal entry preparation.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or equivalent financial systems.
- Solid analytical skills for variance analysis and forecasting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities to work effectively across teams.
