Estimator / Senior Estimator
Join a top mid-sized general contractor known for their integrity of work, family-first culture, and community involvement. They specialize in commercial and multifamily construction and are looking for an estimator / senior estimator to join the team for long-term growth, promoting into a leadership position within five years.
Job responsibilities include :
- Reviewing specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Participating in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.
- Preparing estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
- Reviewing and incorporating historical data from prior projects as required.
- Interfacing with owner, architect / engineer, and / or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
- Preparing conceptual estimates as needed by our clients.
- Participating in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
- Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.
- Responsible for soliciting subcontractors / suppliers to ensure proper coverage.
- Utilizing and completing subcontractor pre-qualification.
- Identifying and distributing documents to interested bidders.
- Leadership during the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques / ideas / products, and subcontractor relationships.
- Leading efforts to secure long lead subcontractors and materials.
- Working with cities and municipalities to identify and procure required permits.

The successful applicant will have :
BA / BS degree in construction management, engineering, or 3+ years of experience in the estimating or project management field.Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.Ground up project knowledge and experience preferred.Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Sage, MS Project.Ability to work in a team environment.Interest in mentorship opportunity.Quantity takeoff and cost estimate experience.What's on offer :
