Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to work in high places and in confined places. Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites. Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required. Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts. Work assignments may vary based on client requirements. Work may be performed inside a large facility (close quarters, low to moderate noise, variable lighting). Work may be performed in the field with environmental conditions such as hot, dusty, cold, wet, icy, or windy climates. Regular attendance following an established work schedule is mandatory. Ability to work any shift or designated hours required. Performance may continue during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work. Some positions may require night and weekend work and travel to areas with varying field conditions. Climbing ladders, working at heights and in small, confined spaces may be required. Capability to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended durations; lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds. Sitting at a desk, phone use, and PC use; may involve lifting and carrying boxes of supplies. General office and field equipment; may require operating company vehicles. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Travel requirements vary; some roles require overseas travel and may require a current passport. Employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required certifications or licenses. Professional behavior, teamwork, organization, and multi-tasking abilities are essential. Ability to communicate with external customers (government, military, contractor personnel) and internal colleagues. Grooming and dress standards : business casual for offices; safety-conscious attire for field work. OSHA standards apply. Some roles may require US government security clearance. Overview
MCS is hiring for Low Voltage Cable Technicians at Orlando, FL . This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
The Low Voltage Cable Technician must demonstrate adaptability by installing multiple types of devices, reading prints and following directions from the Site Superintendent / PM. The role requires good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. Candidates should keep abreast of industry trends and applicable Government regulations.
Typical duties
- Installing, but not limited to Card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, Intercoms, Motion Detectors, Glass Breaks, Speakers, Nurse Call lights, Push Buttons, and Patient Stations.
- Installing and terminating all Low Voltage cabling.
- Terminating, testing, and labeling end-user devices. Comm room build-out.
- Utilizing industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
- Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
- Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
- Maintaining open communication with direct superior to ensure that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
- Following and maintaining proper safety practices.

Educational Requirements : High School diploma or equivalent
Certification Requirements : Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge
