Comfortable 70% in field environments; able to climb, walk, and stand on sites. Strong documentation habits and basic Excel / Sheets proficiency. Defensive driving instructor credential or experience coordinating vendors. Fleet exposure : PM cycles, recall management, telematics, or insurance renewals. QA / QC familiarity in field or lab settings. Certifications : OSHA 30, CHST, GSP / ASP, First Aid / CPR / AED. Salary : $75,000–$90,000 base depending on experience. Company vehicle with take-home preference; fuel and maintenance covered per policy. Company phone and laptop or monthly stipends. Per diem and hotels for overnight travel outside metro areas; KC rooms reserved by company. Standard benefits package; paid time off and holidays. Career path to Senior Safety or Fleet Program lead based on results.

Lead day-to-day safety across warehouses, plants, and construction sites while managing a light fleet program. Balance field coaching with practical paperwork and data. Operate from St. Louis with periodic 3–4 day assignments in Kansas City. Role is 70% field and 30% office with flexibility to complete documentation from home when not on site.
Key Responsibilities – Safety Specialist & Fleet Manager - St. Louis
- Perform site audits, risk assessments, JSAs, and corrective action follow-up.
- Coach field teams on safe work practices for general industry and construction.
- Plan and deliver toolbox talks and targeted micro-trainings.
- Coordinate defensive driving training delivery; teach directly or manage vendor.
- Investigate incidents, motor vehicle accidents, and near misses; track CAPAs.
- Maintain OSHA logs, leading indicators, and metrics dashboards.
- Manage fleet basics : insurance cards / ID, registrations, PM schedules, recalls, fuel and telematics data, and out-of-service returns.
- Support subcontractor safety prequals and site-specific plans.
- Assist with PPE, equipment inspections, and fit testing as applicable.
- Partner with lab / field teams near the St. Louis office to align procedures.
- Travel to KC office near the airport for multi-day support as needed.
