Quilling, Selander, Lownds, Winslett & Moser seeks an associate attorney with 3 to 10 years of experience for its Consumer Financial Litigation practice group.
Role and Responsibilities :
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and / or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
- Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
- Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
Preferred Experience :
The ideal candidate would have 3-10 years working knowledge of the following :
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)CFPB’s Amendments to Reg FDebt collection practices in federal and Texas courtsWrits of SequestrationDefending creditors in consumer bankruptcyTenant EstoppelsHome Equity Mortgages and Home Equity Lines of CreditBusiness Lending for financial institutionsFair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)Consumer lawTelephone Consumer Practices Act (TCPA)Qualifications and Education Requirements :
Licensed in Texas, other licenses are a plus.J.D. from accredited law schoolPreferred Skills :
