Overview
The Senior Campus Minister for Graduate Ministry serves as a member of the Department of Campus Ministry within the Division of Mission and Ministry. The minister will be responsible for proactive relationship building and the creation of programs to foster the faith and spiritual development of graduate students on the Omaha campus—primarily full-time students engaged in a diverse range of academic programs, schedules, and life experiences. The minister will also provide pastoral care and supervise / collaborate with a part-time (15 / hr) Jesuit priest. The individual must be a self-starter with a strong foundation in theology. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to the sections that follow.
Responsibilities
Ministry of Presence
- Provide physical ministry of presence in the Schools and Colleges (primarily the School of Dentistry, the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, the College of Nursing, and the School of Law) to accompany students and nurture relationships essential to effective ministry.
- Serve as a visible and accessible campus minister to the graduate school community, with an emphasis on proactive, large-scale relationship building.
- Contribute to new student orientation and other pertinent student offerings in the various Schools and Colleges and their full-time, on-ground, cohort-based graduate programs.
Faith Engagement and Spiritual Development
Facilitate inter-school / college faith opportunities for graduate and professional students.Develop and lead spiritual programs aimed at fostering community and belonging.Support and resource student-led faith-based initiatives.Collaborate with other offices in the Division of Mission and Ministry on opportunities for students.Identify and connect with students in need of pastoral care and support in navigating crises.Coordinate with liturgists and ministers to support Catholic liturgical celebrations on campus.Serve as the primary point of contact for school and college-specific ceremonies that include religious or spiritual elements (e.g., blessing of hands, white coat, pinning ceremonies).Identify and share information about faith communities and resources in Omaha for students of diverse religious and spiritual traditions.Parish Collaboration
Liaise with St. John's Parish to identify appropriate spiritual offerings for graduate students and young adults.Encourage and support student participation in parish life.Promote awareness of Sacramental opportunities among students.Supervision
Collaborate with the part-time Jesuit to assess and respond to student pastoral and programmatic needs.Provide regular one-on-one supervision and check-ins to support accountability and growth.Offer guidance and feedback to support professional and pastoral development.Support goal setting and performance evaluation.Other Duties As Assigned
Share insights with the Director of Mission Engagement and the Vice President for Mission & Ministry to inform resources and formation opportunities to better accompany graduate-student-facing faculty and staff and support mission integration in graduate programs.Serve as a member of Campus Ministry during key events.Be present at staff and division meetings and gatherings.Maintain program budget and other related administrative tasks.Essential Functions

Master's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral studies, ministry, or related field required.2–4 years of related work experience required; equivalent combination of work or practicum experience at an accredited institution will be considered.Prior ministerial experience, particularly with diverse populations of young adults (ages 22-39) preferred.Practicing member of the Catholic faith.Experience ministering on a college campus preferred.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of Catholic theology, including Catholic Social Teaching and the Ethical and Religious Directives.Understanding of Ignatian spirituality and the Jesuit mission of higher education.Ability to support students of all faiths and connect them with appropriate resources.Demonstrated ability to manage logistics, partnerships, and communications for events and programs.Strong interpersonal skills and a pastoral presence; adept at fostering relationships.Understanding of the development and needs of young adults / post-undergraduate students.Effective written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.Ability to take initiative and act as a self-starter with minimal direction.Ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute program offerings.Ability to exercise prudence and handle confidential information.About Us
