Job Overview : Citibank, N.A. seeks a Funding and Investments Management Lead Analyst for its New York, New York location.
Duties : Support bank's foreign currency balance sheet management. Manage regulatory liquidity allocation to non-U.S. dollar (non-USD) Sovereign Portfolio by executing and overseeing fixed income investments and hedging activities through derivative instruments such as interest rate swap and cross-currency swap. Provide analysis of macroeconomic factors, including interest rate, sovereign curves, cross currency basis spread, and swap spread, to advise on investment strategies with focus on non-USD balance sheet risks. Research global financial market and macroeconomic trends and provide actionable investment strategies based on analysis of non-USD sovereign fixed income market, macroeconomic environment, monetary and fiscal policies, and correlation between different asset classes. Monitor bank's non-USD risk position and manage it within prescribed limits and framework by building risk monitoring tools using Excel VBA and approved platforms in collaboration with technology team for systematic solution of end user computing. Execute risk management and hedging in accordance with Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) hedge standards. Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the non-USD portfolio and projection of its income statement and balance sheet using financial modeling and analysis. Analyze financial performance of the non-USD portfolio by reviewing daily desk level Profits and Loss ("PnL") and Balance Sheet reports and published monthly EV results. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures such as CTI trading mandates and internal controls. Participate in balance sheet optimization and systems automation and implementation initiatives, including projects of developing Treasury Investment Management System ("TIMS") and transitioning from London Inter-Bank Offered Rate ("LIBOR") type benchmarks. Provide non-USD funding and balance sheet optimization solution to bank's major foreign subsidiaries to support parent-level foreign currency liability management. A telecommuting / hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
Requirements : Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Management, Business Administration, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Financial Management Associate, Senior Associate, Accountant, Investment Research Analyst, or related position involving financial due diligence, valuation, financial analysis and balance sheet management. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in the stated fields and 5 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. 3 years of experience must include : Global financial market and macroeconomic trends analysis; Regulatory compliance : Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) hedge standards; Financial reporting, planning and analysis; Financial modeling; Systems automation and implementation; Project management; Risk monitoring and management; and Programming languages, data analysis tools : Excel VBA or Tableau.
