Job Title Buyer Raw & Packaging Materials

Position Summary

As Corporate Buyer, you are responsible for the strategic and operational procurement of Raw Materials and Packaging for our Wisconsin and Iowa plants. You will manage supplier relationships, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure supply continuity in close collaboration with internal stakeholders. You are part of the Corporate Supply Chain Team and will act as a trusted partner for the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, streamline, and implement procurement strategies, procedures, and KPIs for raw and packaging materials in alignment with company goals and compliance standards.
• Manage vendor relationships with a focus on quality, supply reliability, and cost competitiveness.
• Regulate inventory levels and risks including shortages, overstock, and obsolescence while aligning purchasing with production schedules and cross-functional priorities.
• Oversee daily procurement operations including order processing, vendor communication, issue resolution, and coordination with receiving and warehouse on ASN and delivery accuracy.
• Maintain SAP master data and purchasing records to ensure data integrity, supplier compliance, and system reliability for procurement execution.
• Monitor raw and packaging costs, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and reconcile pricing issues in collaboration with Finance.
• Track and report procurement KPIs such as OTIF, cost savings, and lead times; regularly present updates to leadership.
• Lead material onboarding, trial support, and supplier setup activities for facility expansion or new product development.
• Serve as primary liaison between Procurement, Planning, R&D, Operations, and Quality to drive cross-functional alignment and support new and existing product initiatives.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and external compliance activities.
• Provide cross-training and coverage support for other categories during staff absences or peak workload periods.

Qualifications

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

Work is performed in an office environment. Frequent to maximum activities include : speaking, hearing, walking and sitting. Full use of two hands is continuous. May need to lift 5 – 25 lbs intermittently.
