Ocean Import Specialist

We are working with a fast-growing freight forwarder in the Chicago area that is expanding its import team. The company prides itself on delivering tailored logistics solutions, providing excellent customer service, and fostering a collaborative working environment.

As an Ocean Import Specialist, you will play a key role in managing the end-to-end import process for ocean freight shipments. You will work closely with clients, carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and compliant operations. Coordinate and manage ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery

Prepare and review import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.Communicate with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to track and trace shipments

Monitor shipments and resolve any exceptions or delays

Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships

Support the wider operations team as needed

4+ years experience in ocean import operations within freight forwarding

~ S. import regulations and documentation requirements

~ a Licensed Customs Broker qualification is preferred but not a deal breaker

~ Proficiency with industry systems and Microsoft Office
