EHS Specialist - Arden, NC

Job Overview

This position is responsible for coordinating safety policy updates and training activity as detailed in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. Personnel will work directly with the Plant Management Team and Safety Committee members to meet EH&S Objectives.

A Day In The Life

• Facilitate the training needs of individuals as outlined in the Facility EH&S Procedures and Policies.
• Coordinate Safety Training activity for new and existing employees. Supervise training efficiency and advise management personnel of deficiencies.
• Maintain a safe and hazard free environment by working with facility supervision and the maintenance team to ensure compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Actively participate in plant safety committee activity to promote safety awareness and compliance.
• External working relationship with Group EH&S Manager.
• Assist in the management of OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
• Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counseling for all non-compliances.
• Support Lean manufacturing and distribution activities working with the KAIZEN.
• Develop, maintain and report the company EH&S documentation.
