Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

Location : A city located on the western shore of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, along Lake Michigan. Facility : A major healthcare facility with full-service acute care. Opportunity : Seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Psychiatrist to join our dynamic Psychiatry team at the Inpatient Psych Unit with opportunities for growth, teaching, and a collaborative, supportive work environment. Provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adult inpatients in a dedicated behavioral health unit. Perform initial psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and manage treatment plans. Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications in coordination with the care team. Collaborate daily with a fully staffed, multidisciplinary team including APPs, RNs, social workers, case managers, and other specialists. Participate in daily clinical rounds and contribute to patient-centered care discussions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system. Work a consistent Monday Friday schedule from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with built-in flexibility based on provider needs. Share in weekend call coverage on a rotating 1 : 4 schedule. Option to pick up additional shifts for extra compensation if desired. Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows within an academic-affiliated environment.
