The Host supports the on-going operations to provide a high-quality food, beverage and dining experience to maximize guest satisfaction, sales, and profitability. Responsible for supervising the operation of the dining room, adjusting guest seating, making the first impression on guests, and assisting servers to ensure a quality dining experience. Oversee the training and coaching of new service employees. This position is the direct contact and face of D’Amico with guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Graciously greet guest upon arrival, escort them to the table, provide menus, assign servers, and in every way possible, make the guest feel welcomed.
2. Assist service staff as necessary to maintain D’Amico standards and guest satisfaction.
3. Demonstrate superior knowledge of service standards and techniques for service staff. Ensure all duties, including proper table presentation, side work and closing procedures are followed.
4. Assist management in shift assignments for dining room personnel, notifying employees as needed.
5. Assign service stations to all service staff, inform personnel of changes and specials, performing table checks and other matters effecting dining room operations.
6. Supervise the operation of the dining room, adjusting guest seating flow to balance customers among service stations to maximize guest service.
7. Coordinate and communicate to servers and kitchen staff in order to time the service sequence appropriately, remaining calm when unusual circumstances arise.
8. Monitors daily performance of staff and ensures compliance with established policies and procedures. In absence of General Manager or Assistant Manager, acts as a supervisor and lead for service staff.
9. Oversee training of new service employees, regularly reinforcing the D’Amico service standards in all aspects of the restaurant experience.
10. Acts as a role model by always presenting self well, helping co-workers and adhering to policies and procedures, encourages teamwork and treats everyone with respect.
11. Alert manager to any potential problems with guest, staff or space. Consistently monitor the condition and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
12. Attend training and follow all laws and Company policies and procedures regarding the safe service of alcohol.
13. Diligent about employee work and food safety, handle and report guest concerns to appropriate personnel.
14. Complete necessary paperwork, attend meetings and assist with projects as requested.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
