Your Opportunity
Stantec's New York City office is seeking a Civil Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join our team. The candidate should have a mix of project engineering and technical leadership skills to lead and participate in delivering various urban infrastructure projects. You will be technically proficient, take initiative, work well in a team, and seek a challenge. You will lead project teams to ensure delivery, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, and you may lead design as appropriate. You will help shape and develop our local team while contributing to Stantec's growth in the region and country.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop plan packages, approval documents, and analyses in accordance with agency requirements.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate among project disciplines to prepare cohesive deliverables.
- Lead internal project coordination meetings with team members, subconsultants, and vendors.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day project coordination, including technical and managerial items.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are met.
- Review the day-to-day work of others and provide technical guidance for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist project managers to monitor schedule and budget performance of assigned projects and support business development activities.
- Assist with developing technical approaches for Statements of Qualifications and technical aspects for client interviews.
- Develop proposal documentation including project scope, budgets, and design approaches for projects of all sizes.
- Develop positive relationships with existing and prospective clients.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience with concept development, site planning, roadway design, grading and drainage, and utility design.Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.Project coordination experience with the ability to lead through all phases of project document production.Working knowledge of permits and approvals with clients such as NYSDOT, PANYNJ, Metro North Railroad, LIRR, TBTA, NYCT, NYC DDC / EDC / DEP / DOB / SBS / DOT / DPR, NYSDEC, USACE, and / or private developers.Working knowledge of coordinating with City and State Agencies for project permits and approvals.Excellent communication skills to coordinate complex topics and develop consensus.Ability to collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought.Demonstrates technical engineering judgment in solving problems.Strong organization and coordination skills.Proficiency with design and modeling software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, Bentley OpenRoads, and Bentley InRoads.Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.Licensed Professional Engineer (New York State preferred or able to obtain within 6 months of start date).Minimum 8 years of engineering experience.Pay and Benefits
Locations in NYC, CA (Bay Area), and NJ (RP) with a pay range, subject to qualifications.Pay Transparency : Pay ranges are provided where required by law; final compensation based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
