About the Family & Social Services Administration : The Division of Family Resources (DFR) within the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) is responsible for establishing eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits. The division also manages the timely and accurate delivery of SNAP and TANF benefits. DFR also provides employment and training services to some SNAP and TANF recipients. The division’s overarching focus is the support and preservation of families by emphasizing self-sufficiency and personal responsibility.
Role Overview
This role, Technical Writer, is responsible for creating and modifying storyboards, reference materials and communications related to DFR programs. You will be responsible for collaborating with Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Designers, and other content developers to create technical content. Your role will be to translate complex technical solutions, strategies, and themes into easily understandable and readable responses. You will also gather and analyze data from independent observation, consultation with staff or study of published materials to ensure accuracy of technical documentation.
The ideal candidate is able to collaborate effectively, work independently, become proficient in new software, adapt to changing business needs, and possess an excellent command of grammar and written communication. Previous business writing experience is preferred. Moderate travel is required and the primary location for this position is negotiable, dependent on office availability.
Salary Statement
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work.
