Human Resource Generalist (Contract)

Location : San Diego, CA (Hybrid – 3-4 days a week in office)

Pay : $45 / hr.-$50 / hr.

Temporary Contract (Minimum of 3 Months)

What You’ll Do :

• Act as the primary HR contact for employees on all day-to-day HR matters

Handle new hire onboarding and orientation processes

Support benefits administration, including upcoming open enrollment

Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, disability, etc.) and maintain compliance documentation

Create or locate HR templates (FMLA letters, onboarding docs, etc.) — SharePoint experience a plus

Manage employee lifecycle activities : onboarding, changes, terminations, and offboarding

Maintain HR documentation, policies, templates, and compliance records (e.g., offer letters, FMLA forms)

Provide support and guidance on employee relations and performance issues

Help develop and document internal HR processes, procedures, and checklists

Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Assist with audits or reporting related to government contracting requirements (Uninet system)

Keep HR platforms (Paychex Flex, Flock) updated and accurate

Create and manage HR content and templates in SharePoint

Who You Are :

A mid-level HR Generalist with a track record of thriving in small, fast-paced environments

Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in building structure where there is none

Confident working independently but collaborative with leadership

Familiar with a range of HR systems

Experience in benefits administration and compliance documentation is required

Knowledgeable about California labor laws and general HR best practices

Bonus if you’ve worked in government contracting or supported a cleared workforce
