Clinical Informatics Specialist - Reports to : Manager of Clinical Informatics
As a licensed clinical professional with advanced knowledge of healthcare information systems, the Clinical Informatics Specialist bridges the gap between clinical practice and technology to drive excellence in patient care, clinical efficiency, and system optimization. This role combines hands-on healthcare expertise with informatics strategy to support the development, testing, implementation, and training of Beacon Health System’s clinical information systems.
Key Responsibilities
- System Implementation & Optimization : Design, implement, and maintain clinical software applications, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows, policies, and organizational goals.
- Clinical–IT Liaison : Serve as the primary connector between clinical teams and the Information Systems department, translating operational needs into system solutions.
- Training & Support : Provide education, training, and ongoing support to physicians, nurses, and staff to maximize system usability and adoption.
- Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance : Analyze issues, document resolutions, and maintain data accuracy while monitoring system performance and workflow efficiency.
- Testing & Performance Improvement : Develop test scenarios, validate results, and support data-driven initiatives to improve patient safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical outcomes.
Qualifications
Current licensure / certification in a clinical discipline (RN, LPN, RT, Lab Tech, or equivalent).3–5 years of progressive clinical healthcare experience.Strong background in clinical informatics, with preference for candidates who have completed a Clinical Informatics Program or hold informatics certification.Advanced knowledge of clinical operations, policies, and workflows with strong technical skills in healthcare information systems.Proven strengths in problem-solving, communication, and training.Mission & Values
