Overview :
The Front Desk Maitre D serves as the face of the restaurant, setting the tone for each guest’s Omakase experience. This role focuses on managing reservations, guest communications, and front desk operations with precision and grace. The ideal candidate is polished, detail-oriented, and skilled at creating a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining the smooth flow of reservations through SevenRooms and Resy .
Key Responsibilities :
Guest Reception & Service
Greet every guest with warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness upon arrival.
Confirm reservation details and escort guests to their seats when appropriate.
Provide guests with brief introductions to the Omakase experience and answer basic inquiries about the menu and format.
Handle guest check-ins, coat checks, and other arrival logistics seamlessly.
Manage walk-in guests professionally, offering accurate wait times or alternative seating options when possible.
Reservation & Communication Management
Oversee all reservations through SevenRooms and Resy , ensuring accuracy in guest details, timing, and preferences.
Confirm reservations via phone, email, or text and manage last-minute changes or cancellations.
Record guest notes such as allergies, special occasions, or repeat visits, and communicate these to management and service teams.
Respond promptly to guest inquiries with professionalism and a hospitality-driven tone.
Optimize the reservation book for balanced pacing and smooth table turnover across seatings.
Front Desk Operations
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area at all times.
Prepare the daily guest list and seating chart, ensuring all details are reviewed before service.
Collaborate with the management and service teams to adjust seating arrangements based on guest flow or operational needs.
Track late arrivals, no-shows, and guest communication for record-keeping and follow-up.
Team Coordination
Communicate guest arrivals, special requests, and VIP visits clearly to the service and management teams.
Participate in pre-shift meetings to review the evening’s guest list and notable details.
Support management with guest relationship building and post-dining follow-ups when necessary.
Qualifications :
Previous experience as a host, receptionist, or reservation coordinator in a fine dining or luxury hospitality setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of SevenRooms and / or Resy platforms.
Exceptional communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
Calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
Polished, well-groomed appearance and welcoming personality.
Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
