A growing multi-brand retail organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This role will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for driving operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Job Title : Controller Location : Malvern, PA (Fully Onsite) Employment Type : Full-Time, Direct Hire Salary Range : \$125,000 – \$135,000 annually Industry : E-commerce / Retail / Consumer Goods
Key Responsibilities :
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Accounting Operations
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.Supervise and develop accounting team members.Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures.Budgeting & Forecasting
Direct the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisions.Monitor budget performance and report on variances.Audit & Tax
Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely responses to inquiries.Ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize tax strategies.Systems & Process Improvement
Evaluate and improve ERP systems and accounting tools.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Collaborate cross-functionally on operational and financial initiatives.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.Experience in e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods industries preferred.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.Benefits :
