We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Environmental Services (EVS) to oversee the Maintenance, Housekeeping, Janitorial, and Laundry departments. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that exceeds regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, training, and oversight for staff in the Maintenance, Housekeeping, Janitorial, and Laundry departments.
Ensure all areas of the facility meet state, federal, and local regulatory requirements (including CDPH, CMS, OSHA, and Life Safety Code).
Plan and direct preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections for facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, equipment).
Oversee housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure cleanliness, infection control, and resident satisfaction.
Maintain vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and manage departmental budgets.
Conduct routine environmental rounds, safety inspections, and quality assurance audits.
Support ongoing facility renovation and improvement projects in coordination with Administration.
Participate in Safety Committee and QAPI initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in environmental services, maintenance, or facilities management — healthcare or senior living preferred.
Knowledge of OSHPD / HCAI requirements and Life Safety Code standards is strongly preferred
Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
