Every breakthrough AI application, from foundation models to autonomous vehicles, relies on processing massive volumes of images, video, and complex data. But today's data platforms are built on top of tools made for spreadsheet-like analytics, not the petabytes of multimodal data that power AI. As a result, teams waste months on brittle infrastructure instead of conducting research and building their core product.

Eventual was founded in 2022 to solve this. Our mission is to make querying any kind of data, images, video, audio, text, as intuitive as working with tables, and powerful enough to scale to production workloads. Our open-source engine, Daft, is purpose-built for real-world AI systems : coordinating with external APIs, managing GPU clusters, and handling failures that traditional engines can't. Daft already powers critical workloads at companies like Amazon, Mobileye, Together AI, and CloudKitchens.

We've assembled a world-class team from Databricks, AWS, Nvidia, Pinecone, GitHub Copilot, Tesla, and more, quadrupling our size within a year. With Series A and seed funding from Felicis, CRV, Microsoft M12, Citi, Essence, Y Combinator, Caffeinated Capital, Array.vc, and top angels from the co-founders of Databricks and Perplexity, we're looking to double the team now. Please note we're looking for individuals who are excited to be a part of a tight-knit team working together 4 days a week in our SF Mission district office. This is a full-time role with a contract length of about 6 months.

Your Role

As our Technical Recruiting Partner, you'll be the driving force behind building Eventual's engineering team during a critical growth phase. You'll work directly with our founders and engineering leadership to identify, attract, and close exceptional technical talent who will shape the future of data infrastructure. This isn't just filling requisitionsyou'll be a strategic partner helping us compete for top-tier engineers in one of the most competitive hiring markets in tech.

Key Responsibilities

Full-cycle recruiting for 8+ engineering hires across multiple technical disciplines over 6 months

Source candidates through creative outreach, technical communities, and your existing networks

Screen and qualify candidates for technical depth, cultural fit, and alignment with our fast-paced startup environment

Manage candidate experience from initial contact through offer negotiation and onboarding

Partner closely with hiring managers to refine job requirements and interview processes

Track and report on recruiting metrics, pipeline health, and time-to-hire improvements

What We Look For

3+ years technical recruiting experience at a startup (Series A-C companies preferred) and / or a technical agency

Technical fluency to evaluate engineering candidates and speak credibly about complex technical roles

Proven sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, technical communities, and Boolean search techniques

Strong networks in the SF Bay Area and remote engineering talent pools

Data-driven approach with experience using recruiting analytics and pipeline management

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with both candidates and internal stakeholders

Scrappiness and willingness to learn / adopt AI tools in the recruiting process
