Educational and Experience Requirement :
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Two years relevant specialist experience or experience in a advising, counseling, and Teacher Preparation and Texas certification or in a related field. Certifications may be required. Experience in Higher Education and specialized work is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position :
Performs highly advanced and complex specialist duties for TRIO Student Support Services.
Primary Responsibilities :
Advises and mentors 140 participants every semester. Tracks participant certification process through benchmarks. Manages several certification and tutoring software. Specializes in intervention services for TRIO and COE students unable to pass exams before field experience. Plans and implements Ed and Preparation Workshops for TRIO participants. Plans all recruiting communications & events for TSSS program. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications :
Requires knowledge of local, state, and federal laws with the ability to manage business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
