A company is looking for a z / OS Mainframe Systems Programmer to support a federal program on a fully remote schedule.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide daily systems programming support for IBM z / OS versions 2.5 and 3.1, including installation and configuration of key components
Manage and optimize storage systems and provide operational support for IBM enterprise servers across multiple processor generations
Plan, execute, and document Disaster Recovery exercises, ensuring system performance monitoring and compliance with audit standards
Required Qualifications :
Deep expertise in Sysplex, Coupling Facility, JES2, SMP / E, TCP / IP, VTAM, RACF, CICS, and IBM Workload Scheduler
Proficiency in performance tuning and SMF / RMF data analysis
Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe hardware spanning z13 through z17 platforms
Strong programming skills in COBOL, Assembler, and REXX
Familiarity with hybrid IT environments integrating mainframe systems with distributed platforms
