Overview

We seek a Package / Material Engineer to support our consumer product client's Oral Care team. The role focuses on packaging material savings and manages the entire end-to-end packaging development process. This hybrid position is in Mason, OH, about 24 hours per week.

Base pay range

$45.00 / hr - $60.00 / hr

Gus Perdikakis Associates provided pay range. This range is provided by Gus Perdikakis Associates. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

  • Lead packaging material-savings projects.
  • Qualify materials at suppliers and validate packaging at manufacturing sites.
  • Write and align technical documentation (protocols, reports, assessments).
  • Troubleshoot design, material, and process issues with cost-effective solutions.
  • Analyze and test for optimization / efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, engineering, operations, and sourcing teams.
  • Recommend and implement testing methods and efficiency tools.

Qualifications

  • Experience developing and qualifying bottles and closures.
  • Background as Packaging Scientist or Engineer.
  • Familiarity with ISBM PET bottles and child-resistant closures.
  • Strong project-management and cross-functional leadership skills.
