Salary Range : $80,000-$100,000 / year

Target Fill Date : August 1, 2025

RMCAD is seeking a Director of Facilities to act as a key leader to oversee the maintenance, functionality, and safety of our historic and expansive campus. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of facilities operations, including preventative maintenance, construction and renovation projects, janitorial services, and day-to-day campus upkeep. The Director of Facilities plays a vital role in ensuring that our physical environment supports the college’s educational mission by providing a clean, safe, and well-maintained space for students, faculty, and staff.

When this job is performed well, the following results will be met :

Safe and Operational Campus– All buildings, systems, and grounds are proactively maintained to ensure a secure, accessible, and comfortable environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

• Regular safety inspections are conducted to identify and address potential hazards, including seasonal weather impacts like ice, snow, or storm debris.
• Emergency systems (e.g., fire alarms, sprinklers, lighting, and evacuation routes) are tested and maintained to ensure full functionality at all times.
• Outdoor pathways and entry points are kept clear, salted, and safe during inclement weather.

Efficient Facility Operations– Preventative maintenance and repair work are planned, scheduled, and executed with precision, minimizing disruption to academic and administrative operations.

Preservation of Historic Structures– Historic campus buildings are preserved and maintained according to best practices, balancing functionality with architectural integrity.

Cost-Effective Project Management– Renovations and construction projects are completed on time and within budget, with clear communication and minimal disruption to college operations.

Compliance with Regulations– All facilities-related work complies with local codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations, avoiding violations or penalties.

Positive Campus Experience– Students and staff experience a welcoming, functional, and inspiring physical environment that supports learning, creativity, and community engagement.

Strong Team Performance– The janitorial and maintenance teams are well-supervised, motivated, and responsive, contributing to a clean and orderly campus.
