About The Role

The Director Of Development Events serves as the lead project manager for event operations, ensuring seamless planning, logistics, and execution of the Boston Symphony Orchestra's development events. While the Senior Director oversees fundraising strategy and vision, this position provides the operational backbone to deliver world-class events that support those objectives.

This role manages two Assistant Directors and leads coordination across departments including Operations, Facilities, Development Operations, Marketing, and IT. The Director ensures accountability, cross-functional alignment, and timely execution of all internal and vendor deliverables. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented leader with a collaborative mindset and commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Departmental Project Leadership

• Act as the primary project manager across Development Operations, Facilities, Marketing, IT, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive cross-departmental accountability, ensure adherence to timelines, and deliver high-quality execution of all event-related operations.
• Maintain proactive communication and transparency across functions to prevent silos and reduce friction in planning.
