Our Addison power transformer design / manufacturer client is looking for a Production Supervisor.
This is a working supervisor position. You will be on the floor with your staff taking part in production.
Job Overview :
The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations and scheduling while ensuring quality and safety. Key responsibilities include planning department activities, assigning duties, managing material orders and waste, training personnel, and coordinating with other departments to meet production deadlines and standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in winding processes, and a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervision and Coordination : Oversee a team of coil winders, technicians, and other production personnel, coordinating their activities to meet production targets.
- Production Planning : Schedule and plan daily, weekly, and monthly activities, utilizing knowledge of motor controls, insulation, and winding machine operations to assign jobs efficiently.
- Quality Control : Ensure all wound components adhere to specifications, such as the number of turns, size of coils, and type of wire, by conducting inspections and implementing quality control measures.
- Equipment Management : Inspect machine adjustments, coordinate maintenance, and troubleshoot winding equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operation.
- Material and Waste Management : Order necessary materials and supplies, and implement practices to conserve materials and minimize waste during the winding process.
- Staff Management and Development : Train new employees, assess their skills, and recommend staffing actions such as hiring and promotions to ensure a skilled workforce.
- Safety Compliance : Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure all team members follow safety procedures and regulations.
- Reporting : Prepare production and other relevant reports for management, providing insights into manufacturing feasibility and efficiency.
