PRIMARY OBJECTIVE : To provide support in floral sales, plant care and design. To contribute toward ensuring a positive shopping environment for customers and a positive working environment for employees.

NATURE AND SCOPE : Emphasis is on customer service, creative floral design and proper care of plants and cut flowers. Primary learning challenge is ability to design a variety of floral arrangements properly. This position requires a good sense of sales ability in order to meet the customer’s needs. Must have a good sense of color balance, ongoing judgment / decision making, excellent social skills / verbal interaction, listening skills, light lifting, standing, and operation of clippers, stapler, knives and scissors. Position functions may vary according to business needs. The Floral Manager or person in charge provides assignments and work direction.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

• Design Floral arraignments for specific functions

Communicate with customer on her or his needs

Provide courteous, prompt and accurate customer service

Check shipment for content and quality

Remove hanging baskets from display rack with plant hook, water and replace to rack

Sweep, mop cooler when condensation builds

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting / carrying up to 95 lbs.

Judgment / decision making

Exposure to wet surfaces
