General description of the position :
Position Summary :
The EHSE Manager will establish, implement, and sustain a proactive Environmental, Health, Safety, and Energy program for a fast-growing turbine engine manufacturing facility. This role will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, drive a culture of safety and environmental responsibility, optimize energy use, and support business continuity as the facility scales to full production. The EHS&E Manager will serve as a key partner to leadership, operations, and employees in embedding safety, sustainability, and risk management into daily operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Environmental :
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance programs (air permits, hazardous waste, stormwater, SPCC, recycling, sustainability initiatives).
- Manage reporting and recordkeeping for federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Lead sustainability and resource-conservation projects to reduce waste, emissions, and environmental footprint.
Health & Safety :
Develop and execute safety management systems in line with OSHA, ISO 45001, and industry best practices.Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and ergonomics evaluations for new and existing processes.Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective / preventive actions.Implement employee training programs (lockout / tagout, confined space, PPE, emergency response, etc.).Champion a "safety-first" culture throughout all levels of the organization.Energy Management :
Establish an energy management strategy aligned with ISO 50001 principles.Monitor and analyze utility usage; recommend and implement energy efficiency improvements.Partner with Facilities and Operations teams to design low-energy, sustainable processes and infrastructure.General Leadership :
Develop and track EHSE performance metrics, report progress to leadership, and recommend improvements.Engage and influence leadership, supervisors, and employees to ensure accountability.Act as the facility's primary contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and external stakeholders.Build scalable systems to support rapid growth from prototype to production.Qualifications : Required :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Energy Management, or related field.Master's degree or professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, CEM, ISO 14001 / 45001 / 50001 Lead Auditor).7+ years of EHS&E experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or energy-intensive industries.Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state / local regulations.Demonstrated experience building EHS&E programs from the ground up.Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills.Ability to balance regulatory compliance with practical, scalable solutions in a start-up environment.Hands-on experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement culture integration.Key Competencies :
