Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel in a specialty clinic. Facilitates patient / physician / provider communication and coordination of care.
Job Functions
- Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR.
- Supports physicians in documentation of patient's visit by entering physician's dictation into the EMR system during the patient's visit.
- Administers prescribed medications / vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification / licensure.
- Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.
- Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day.
- Performs specialty procedures / tests as directed by the Physician
- Helps maintain stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments / exam room.
- Assists in arranging referrals / prior authorizations as necessary.
- Provides patient education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical NursingLicense / Certifications
Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistance (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (new graduates will have 1 year to become certified / licensed in order to maintain employment)Current CPR certificationPreferred Qualifications
