GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Specialist supports various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. This role serves as a vital link between employees and management, ensuring a positive work environment and helping to meet organizational goals through effective HR practices. The HR Specialist is responsible for handling employee inquiries, managing HR records, and assisting in the implementation of HR policies and programs. This is a part time position working 20-30 hours weekly. Bilingual Required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the recruitment process, including job posting, screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and coordinating the hiring processFacilitate new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth integration into the organization by coordinating orientation sessions, setting up accounts, and managing paperworkFunction as a resource for employees, addressing questions on HR policies, procedures, and benefitsSupport employee engagement initiatives and help resolve conflicts or concerns in a fair and consistent mannerAssist in administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness programsAnswer employee questions about benefits, enrollment, and eligibility and help resolve any related issuesMaintain accurate employee records in the HR information system (HRIS), including personal details, employment status, performance evaluations, and training recordsEnsure data integrity and confidentiality, adhering to data privacy and company policySupport the development and communication of HR policies, ensuring they align with federal, state, and local lawsAssist in compliance audits and update policies as needed to reflect regulatory changesCoordinate the performance review process, including scheduling evaluations, collecting feedback, and maintaining performance recordsProvide support in creating development plans and identifying training opportunitiesAssist in organizing and facilitating employee training programs, professional development opportunities, and workshopsTrack employee participation in training and development programs and maintain relevant recordsParticipate in initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and workplace cultureAssist in conducting employee engagement surveys and analyzing results to inform HR strategiesEDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Associate degree or higher (preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field1-3 years of experience in human resources or a related roleMust be bilingual - Spanish and EnglishKnowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and best practicesAbility to convey information clearly and professionally to employees, managers, and external candidatesEffectively listen and respond to employees' concerns or questions, demonstrating empathy and understandingMediate conflicts, resolve disputes, and maintain a positive work environmentManage multiple HR functions simultaneously, from recruitment to benefits administrationFamiliarity with HR information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and payroll softwareProficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for document creation, data analysis, and presentationsThorough understanding of federal, state, and local labor laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and wage and hour regulationsExperience in finding and assessing candidates who fit the company culture and role requirementsKnowledge of onboarding best practices to ensure new employees feel welcomed and integratedProvide responsive and helpful assistance to employees regarding HR-related questions or issuesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
