DESCRIPTION :
- The Lab Manager Technician is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with Clients quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role manages laboratory equipment, supplies, and testing activities while providing technical support to internal teams. The Lab Manager Technician ensures efficient, safe, and compliant laboratory operations through proper documentation, staff training, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Manage laboratory equipment, including calibration, preventive maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and software updates to support testing activities.Maintain the asset tracking system, ensuring accurate records of asset locations, status, and availability.Coordinate inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables; place orders as needed to prevent workflow disruptions.Support testing activities by preparing samples, conducting routine tests, and ensuring accurate recording of data.Develop, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation practices.Train and guide laboratory staff, interns, or contractors on safety and technical procedures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing) to support laboratory-related projects.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in alignment with EHS standards.Prepare reports, metrics, and updates for management regarding laboratory performance, compliance, and operational status.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Technical degree in Laboratory Sciences, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.Minimum of 35 years of experience in laboratory environments, preferably within medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards, regulatory guidelines, and quality management systems (ISO, GMP, GLP).Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and laboratory management systems.Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong customer service mindset.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience in a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical company.Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
