job_description.job_card.job_descriptionCivil Engineer Contract to Hire Indianapolis, IN Essential Functions : Prepare and coordinate project designs, plans, specifications, and bidding documents. Review contractor submissions for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance. Coordinate with A / E firms, contractors, and utility companies. Conduct site visits, inspections, and evaluate design / spec changes during projects. Provide technical engineering guidance and develop project justifications, cost estimates, and bills of materials. Maintain project documentation including design, progress, costs, and completion records. Prepare and review environmental, site survey, soil analysis, and energy source reports. Identify and propose infrastructure projects and upgrades. Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience. Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction practices, and federal / state / local codes. Ability to evaluate complex technical designs and specifications. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred : CAD drafting skills (AutoCAD / Revit). Ability to stay current with engineering and construction technologies. Willingness to travel as needed.
