Overview

Racial and Ethnic Approach to Community Health (REACH) is a community and academic collaboration that brings culturally appropriate strategies and implementation to close the health disparities gaps in specified chronic diseases in African American / Blacks and the Hispanic / Latino population. The Data Manager / IT and Communication Specialist will report directly to the Program supervisor and will work with the specified communities, grant partners and the Evaluation Specialist. Together with the team, the Data Manager will conduct the duties specified below :

The Data Manager / IT and Communication Specialist will help collect and manage data so that it can be used to analyze REACH functions, productivity, and redundancies for evaluation. The individual will assist the REACH program with data tracking and the development of evaluation instruments in collaboration with the CDC Evaluator and the REACH Evaluation Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and conducts program activities that provide data to support and enhance decision-making, strategic planning, outcomes assessment, grant guidelines and external reporting; serves as liaison between the department and other constituents.
• Perform data entry, run reports, verify the integrity of data and report issues.
• Designs, develops and implements moderately complex database applications to accommodate a variety of user needs.
• Monitor and maintain research database.
• Perform quantitative descriptive, bivariate, multivariate, qualitative analyses (e.g., focus group, content analysis), and mixed methods research.
• Work independently and collectively on program-specific assessment projects.
• Complete data reports that are conducive to both Creighton University and the CDC.
• Meet with partners and other program entities routinely to ensure collection of data is thorough, precise and complete.
• Extract, manipulate, and report data to internal and external constituencies; manage data; prepare and maintain data files; verify data to ensure data integrity.
• Acquire, manipulate, develop, and maintain longitudinal data sets, verifying accuracy and consistency over time.
• Write documentation for programs and operations.
• Design and develop standardized operational, management, and ad hoc reports; prepare reports fulfilling the requirements of federal, regional, and state agencies and other external organizations; work with user community to understand reporting needs; identify sources.
• Serve as a resource person in data management and reporting, and act as a representative on committees.
• Perform all IT and communications needs of REACH including website design, monthly newsletter, brochures and all special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Complete other job duties as assigned by the Program Director or Senior Associate Director or Program Supervisor.
