We are seeking a GIS Technician to support the input, processing, and maintenance of distribution lines and equipment assets within an ESRI GIS database. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in both office and remote environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Input, update, and maintain distribution line and equipment asset data in ESRI GIS systems
- Ensure accuracy and quality control of GIS data
- Support mapping, analysis, and reporting needs for distribution infrastructure
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and goals
- Participate in training and ongoing professional development related to GIS tools and distribution systems
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredBachelors degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field; GIS Certificate; or at least 2 years of full-time GIS work experience requiredExperience with ESRI ArcGIS software required; ArcGIS Pro experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite requiredKnowledge of power distribution systems preferredExperience with CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting) a plusStrong teamwork and communication skills requiredFull-time, 40 hours per week, MondayFridayFlexible scheduling with 8- or 10-hour shifts; typical hours between 7 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PMPrimarily office-based, with flexibility for remote work after an initial training periodRemote work requires a reliable broadband internet connection capable of supporting VPN and remote desktop useCandidates must live within commuting distance to the office for training, meetings, and occasional onsite workSeniority level
