As the Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO), you'll play a key role in managing on-site safety compliance and championing best practices in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment, with exposure to cutting-edge retrofit and energy projects.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as SSHO, reporting directly to the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety and ensuring daily on-site presence at client locations.
- Implement, maintain, and monitor the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System per ISO 45001 standards.
- Enforce the Safety Accident Prevention Plan and site-wide safety protocols, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
- Track and resolve safety and health deficiencies, keeping detailed up-to-date records.
- Develop safety proposals, interpret safety regulations, and create training materials and inspection tools.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with all company and site-specific safety standards and requirements.
- Assist with project schedules, facilitate site access for visits / deliveries, and coordinate field operations.
- Support business development through on-site engagement and collect field data and images as needed.
Must-Have Skills :
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management and / or on-site fieldwork.Strong computer documentation skills and proficiency in safety program recordkeeping.In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EM-385 safety standards.Experience implementing ISO 45001-based OH&S management systems.U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain government security clearance.Nice-to-Have Skills :
Associates or bachelors degree in occupational safety and health or a related field.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as project demands require.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; technical writing and analytical ability preferred.Experience collaborating in high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.CSP or ASP credentials are a bonus.Passion for sustainable energy, energy efficiency, and construction project management.Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and self-direction.
