Operations Manager
Location : Spartanburg, SC
Holroyd Precision Rotors is a global leader in the production of high-precision helical screw rotors. We're seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee our machine shop operations and lead a skilled team in delivering top-quality components with precision and efficiency.
In this hands-on leadership role, you'll manage a team of 28 operatives and 3 engineers, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, driving productivity, and maintaining our high standards of quality. You'll work closely with our UK-based cross-functional teams to meet production goals and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring consistent output of high-precision components to meet production targets.
- Maximise machine utilisation and performance, including multi-axis CNC milling, turning, and grinding, through proactive maintenance and process optimisation.
- Oversee setup and operation of rotor milling and grinding machines, ensuring tooling efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production processes, leveraging technologies such as on-machine probing and CAD / CAM integration.
- Ensure operators are fully trained and competent in precision machining techniques, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to align production priorities and resolve technical challenges.
- Monitor inventory and implement effective stock control to support uninterrupted manufacturing flow.
- Analyse production data and provide actionable insights to senior management for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, safety protocols, and customer specifications.
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated leadership experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment.In-depth knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining (Milling, Turning, Grinding) and precision engineering.Proficiency with ERP systems, manufacturing software, and CAD / CAM tools.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.A results-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting deadlines and driving operational success.Benefits :
