CNC Machinist
This position requires the technical skills necessary to program and operate CNC 5-axis milling machines, CNC lathes and mill turns, manual lathes, and CNC water jets as well as other fabrication equipment. Qualified candidates should be familiar with the milling and turning of aluminum, steel, and various plastics.
NATURE OF DUTIES
- Importing solid model CAD files into CAM software and generating machine code to machine parts in CNC milling machines and CNC lathes
- Programming, material preparation, setup, and operation of CNC milling machines with a 5-axis trunnion
- Programming, material preparation, setup, and operation of CNC lathe and mill turn
- Programming, material preparation, setup, and operation of CNC water jet equipment
- Prepare stock material for further machining operations
- Regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, torque, and coolant flow
- Perform in-process inspection
- Work to deadlines
- Perform periodic maintenance of machining equipment
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Certificate in machining requiredProgramming CNC machines experience using CAM software requiredAssociate degree desirable3 years minimum experienceMust have full understanding of engineering drawings and GD&TMasterCAM experience desiredExperience with Haas milling and turning equipment desiredSolidWorks design experience desiredAbility to understand the manufacturing process and make suggestions for improvementDemonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projectsPossess the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and the ability to work in a team environment
