What You'll Do
As Assistant Division Chief, you will :
- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals focused on complex investigations.
- Direct high-profile enforcement actions that may set legal and regulatory precedents.
- Provide strategic legal counsel to state policymakers and senior leadership.
- Oversee staffing, recruitment, and employee development to strengthen the branch.
- Shape litigation strategies and regulatory frameworks that impact California's energy future.
- Manage contracts, consultants, and critical legal resources to advance DPMO's mission.
- Build on the success of ABX21 , expanding petroleum market transparency and oversight.
What We're Looking For
Extensive leadership experience in investigations, litigation, or regulatory enforcement.Deep knowledge of California regulatory law and energy policy.Proven ability to interpret complex codes and regulations to drive meaningful change.Experience advising senior government leaders on high-stakes legal and policy matters.Commitment to advancing transparency, oversight, and California's clean energy transition.Why This Role Matters
