SUMMARY : As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for selling a range of tactical products, including gear, equipment, and accessories, to military, law enforcement, security agencies, and outdoor enthusiasts. This position offers the flexibility to manage your own schedule and work remotely, while earning commissions based on your sales performance. The role will require regular travel, including attending trade shows and client meetings, and the ability to physically manage the demands of the job. First Tactical will provide you with all Public Safety contacts including Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in an assigned territory as well as sales samples, sales collateral, and a territory management tool.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Sales Generation :
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the tactical industry, including government agencies, law enforcement departments, and security companies.
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, targeting both existing and potential clients in military, law enforcement, and commercial sectors.
- Conduct in-depth product presentations and demonstrations to educate potential clients on the features, benefits, and applications of tactical clothing and gear.
- Coordinate and oversee wear tests for products with key customers or influencers, gathering detailed feedback on performance and quality to improve product offerings
- Perform regular store visits, conducting count and fill reports to ensure products are stocked properly and that displays are visually appealing.
Relationship Management :
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients in the tactical, defense, and security sectors.Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them find the right products to meet their operational or recreational needs.Schedule and conduct ongoing departmental / dealer visits and provide exceptional customer service.Product Knowledge & Expertise :
Maintain in-depth knowledge of tactical gear, including accessories, backpacks, and other tactical equipment.Keep up to date with industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings to ensure you are well-equipped to meet client needs.Attend product demonstrations, industry trade shows, and relevant events to stay informed and network with potential customers.Negotiation & Closing Sales :
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients, ensuring a win-win outcome while adhering to company policies.Close deals with both large organizations and individual customers, working to maximize sales volume.Reporting & Documentation :
Track sales performance, providing regular reports on leads, opportunities, closed sales, and client interactions.Maintain accurate records of client details, product specifications, quotes, and sales transactions.EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION :
Proven experience in sales, preferably within the tactical, defense, or law enforcement industries.Strong understanding of tactical gear and equipment, with the ability to communicate technical details effectively.Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.Background or familiarity with the military, law enforcement, or security sectors is a plus.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in sales, business, or a related field is a plus.Physical Demands :
Remote Work : The ability to work independently from a remote location, managing your own schedule and responsibilities.Travel : Regular travel to client meetings, industry events, and trade shows will be required. This may include long hours on the road, overnight stays, and flying.Trade Shows & Client Meetings : The physical demands of attending trade shows and in-person meetings, which may include standing for long periods, setting up booths, and interacting with multiple clients.Lifting & Carrying : Must be able to carry and transport a 50-pound bag or trade show materials, including product samples, marketing materials, and display setups, to and from venues.Driving & Transportation : Comfortable driving long distances to visit clients or attend trade shows and managing transportation logistics for events.
