Job Title : Firmware Engineer IV

Job Description

The main function of a Firmware Engineer IV is to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs, including mainframe and client / server applications, as well as major enhancements of existing systems.

Responsibilities

Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.

Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions to meet client needs.

Analyze and review enhancement requests and specifications.

Implement system software and customize it to client requirements.

Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans.

Code new programs to client specifications and create test data for testing.

Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.

Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.

Provide quality assurance reviews.

Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field.

8-10 years of experience in software development.

Strong foundation in computer science with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Experience in large systems software design and development.

Proficiency in embedded C, embedded software, C / C++.

Experience in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.

Experience in programming and problem diagnosis and resolution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field is preferred.

Candidates with a stable job history and diverse programming experience will be favored.

Work Environment

The role is part of the software development team servicing in-market devices, primarily focusing on cutting-edge devices and extra accessories. The key project involves working on the MCU Firmware project, particularly in bug investigation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00 / hr.
