Head of AI Transformation (Engineering)

Overview

Our client is looking for a Head of Software Engineering. In this role, you will guide the software team through the design and development of our current and future products.

You are comfortable taking action in an environment where complete information is unavailable, and can help your team deliver well-architected products that maintain high quality. Experience coordinating many moving parts to meet tight deadlines and having contingency plans ready when priorities shift is a must-have.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a software engineering team; guide design and development of current and future products; ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable software; work in a fast-paced startup environment; coordinate multiple moving parts to meet deadlines; develop contingency plans.

Qualifications

• 12+ years building large-scale consumer mobile platforms with at least 3+ years leading 50+ engineers.
• Strong experience in App Engine / Server-Driven UI
• Hands-on fluency with Swift, Kotlin, React Native / Flutter, GraphQL / gRPC APIs, A / B testing, CI / CD, Crashlytics, and real-time observability pipelines.
• Strong system design experience and willingness to roll up your sleeves if needed.
• Relentlessly strive to push towards best practices and team goals while being flexible in a fast-paced startup environment.
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong commercial acumen, grit, and a deep appreciation for quality.
