A well-established intellectual property law firm with a strong reputation for excellence, collaboration, and client-focused service is seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal to join its growing team. This opportunity offers the flexibility to work remotely or in-person from the firm’s Minneapolis office.
As a Patent Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting attorneys with the preparation, filing, and management of U.S. and international patent applications. You’ll be responsible for maintaining deadlines, ensuring accuracy across filings, and facilitating clear communication between clients, attorneys, and patent offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file U.S. patent applications, PCT applications, and coordinate foreign filings
- Monitor and docket prosecution deadlines and USPTO communications
- Prepare and file formal documents (Assignments, Declarations, Powers of Attorney)
- Manage responses to office actions and other prosecution-related tasks
- Communicate with clients, foreign associates, and government agencies
- Assist with portfolio management and reporting
- 3+ years of patent paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
- Strong knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
