Interior Designer / Business Development | Wood Dale, IL

In this exciting hybrid role you will serve as a critical connector between inbound client inquiries and the design-led sales process of the company. This unique role combines early-stage client engagement, lead qualification, and account development with a strong foundation in retail design. You'll serve as a first point of contact for prospects—guiding them through discovery and qualifying opportunities—while supporting the design team in converting leads into lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and website inquiries
- Qualify and nurture inbound leads; determine project viability and client needs
- Guide prospects through early discovery to a point of handoff to the design sales team
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions and lead activity in Salesforce (or similar CRM
- Prepare and send tailored follow-up communications and materials
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure smooth, well-informed transitions of warm leads
- Track inquiry progress and assist in reporting on lead activity and conversion trends
- Coordinate showroom visits, lunch & learns, and sample / collateral requests
- Provide support for sales and marketing campaigns, tracking ROI and engagement
- Travel as required for industry events, client meetings, and trade shows
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Marketing, Business, or a related field2-4+ years of experience in retail design, business development, customer service, or sales supportFamiliarity with retail fixture systems and retail design environmentsProficient in CRM platforms such as Salesforce; capable of managing clean and accurate dataStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and strong follow-throughExcellent time management and multitasking ability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven settingAble to work independently while effectively collaborating across departmentsCareer-minded with a desire to grow within a design and sales-focused companyPreferred Skills
Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD and RevitInterest in the retail industry and knowledge of retail merchandising principlesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative SuitPrevious experience coordinating with clients, vendors, or internal creative teamsExposure to trade shows or industry networking eventsCompensation and Benefits
