PharmaCord is seeking an exceptional Patient Services Pharmacy Supervisor who will provide in-depth knowledge of our client programs in a high-volume pharmacy environment by working directly with consumers, patients, healthcare providers, and client partners to achieve successful pharmacy operations.
The Patient Services Pharmacy Supervisor oversees day-to-day front-of-house operations within the non-commercial pharmacy, ensuring efficient pharmacy workflows while delivering exceptional patient and provider support. This role combines leadership, operational oversight, and patient-centered service to ensure compliance, accuracy, and a positive experience for patients navigating specialty therapies
Your Impact in This Role
Essential Functions :
Team Leadership & Supervision :
- Supervise and coach a team of pharmacy technicians, coordinators, and support staff.
- Oversee daily staffing, scheduling, and workflow, supporting Pharmacy Operations Team Leads to ensure pharmacy technicians prioritize accurate and timely delivery of pharmaceutical products.
- Supervise delivery staff and outside couriers as needed
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team environment.
Front-of-House Operations :
Oversee patient intake, verification, and support processes for specialty medications.Ensure timely processing of prescriptions, prior authorizations, and insurance coordination.Monitor and improve operational efficiency, quality, and adherence to Pharmacy protocols.Patient & Provider Support :
Serve as a primary escalation point for patient and provider inquiries.Assist external and internal callers by actively listening to each caller, assess the situational needs, and respond with patience and courtesyReview and identify information that is missing and / or incorrect within program service requests / program applicationsEnsure patients receive clear guidance on therapy access, medication education, and support resources.Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concernsCommunicate with internal account contacts. Provide consultative services where issues arise on how obstacles can be overcome to ensure timely shipmentsTraining & Development :
Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing training programs for team members.Identify skills gaps and create targeted development plans to enhance team performance.Mentor and coach staff to foster career growth and maintain high standards of patient service.Evaluate team competencies regularly and provide constructive feedback.Compliance & Quality Assurance :
Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with federal and state regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, etc., as well as internal SOPs.Conduct audits and quality checks to maintain accuracy in patient records, prescriptions, and communications.Assist the Pharmacy Manager with internal and external auditsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.Reporting & Communication :
Generate operational reports, track KPIs, and communicate performance metrics to leadership.Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, sales, and operations teams to support organizational objectives.What you’ll need to thrive in this role
High School diploma or equivalent is required2 years of experience in pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, or patient support services.Possess Current KY Pharmacy Tech RegistrationPrevious personnel / team management experience is requiredNational Pharmacy Tech Certification or the ability to obtain Certification within 90 days of hire (PTCB Certification preferred at time of application)Strong leadership, coaching, and people development abilities.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of specialty pharmacy workflows, insurance, and prior authorization processes.Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced patient interactions with empathy and professionalism.Proficiency with pharmacy software, electronic medical records (EMR), and patient management systems.Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferredWe are located at 11001 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, KY. You must be willing to work in this location; PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate. This rate is applied after 40 trips per month (valued at $696.80 per year).Preferred Attributes
